Even at times we’d most associate with excitement and new possibility, the people of God in the Bible often felt overwhelmed by the meaning of the transition before them. The same can be true for us, but doesn’t have to bring shame - perhaps that’s part of accepting how significant something is that hasn’t just happened, but is meant to include us.
