Community Partners

Gahanna Residents in Need (GRIN) is our local food pantry that serves the area of the Gahanna Jefferson School District. In addition to food, they also have clothing and some financial assistance available (primarily focused on utilities).

We have folks from our church that volunteer at GRIN, and we make regular collections at the church to donate - like monthly special collection items GRIN asks for and winter clothing items in the season. We also host an annual concert featuring Capitol City Chorus as a fundraiser.

In the summer of 2020, we launched a Community Produce Garden on our grounds that will primarily benefit GRIN to fight food insecurity with more fresh produce options for our neighbors.

Lion’s Locker

Lion's Locker offers food items, school supplies, and other assistance to Gahanna Jefferson School District students conveniently and anonymously through their schools.   Our church focuses on regularly collecting items for weekly snack packs they provide, as well as items for special seasonal collections.  We have some wonderful members who are staff at Gahanna Lincoln High School who serve as liaisons for us to the program.

Seeds of Caring

Seeds of Caring is an organization that focuses on cultivating volunteerism and philanthropy in young people by connecting kids and their families with service opportunities in partnership with a range of community organizations.

We partner regularly for work and harvest days in the garden, and we also sometimes host events in our church building that serve and benefit other organizations.

Check out more about them and all their different opportunities here:

Gahanna Neighborhood Bridges

Gahanna Neighborhood Bridges is the local chapter of the Neighborhood Bridges program that started here in Central Ohio and is spreading around the country. The program serves as a connecting bridge between people with needs that can fall through the cracks of the most common resource providing agencies and individuals, churches, business, and organizations that have a capacity to meet that need and are willing to step up to help.

We do our best to track their regularly announced needs and respond as members or as a church whenever our abilities and resources match with what people are looking for. We encourage everyone to do the same through their webpage.

ARCH

Accompanying Returning Citizens with HOPE

ARCH works with returning citizens, people who are still incarcerated, and their loved ones to bring transformation to our system of mass incarceration and a strong foundation for individuals re-establishing their lives after the impacts of encounters with the criminal justice system. They work on housing, direct services, employment support, issue advocacy, and more.

We partner with ARCH on things like writing letters to people in prison, welcoming people to ARCH’s transitional house or a new place of their own, and other ways of companioning and support.

Goodwill

Goodwill Industries helps people with different developmental and physical abilities live full and vibrant lives connected to the community. This includes doing day group activities that can include trips to do a wide range of things, and to partner with a wide range of groups.

We are blessed to be visited every Thursday at 10:00 am by some of these day groups in our area for gardening, games, crafts and other activities that build amazing relationships together.
