Tomatoes

Tips for Care:

When Plant is 3 feet tall, remove lower (oldest) leaves, remove suckers that grow at the joints where two branches join.

1” of water per week, dry spells may require more.

Harvesting:

Grasp the stem in one hand and the tomato in the other. Pull gently but firmly, breaking the stem just above the calyx (green leaf base at stem)

Tomatoes are fully ripe when red, but can be picked when they are predominantly red or orange. Tomatoes continue ripening after picking, so they can be picked slightly under-ripe if GRIN distribution is a few days out.

*Green tomatoes can be harvested at the very end of the season when there is no chance they will ripen completely. Certain cultures prefer green tomatoes for their higher acidity.
