Summer Squash (Zucchini, Yellow Squash, etc.

Squash is usually differentiated into two categories: winter and summer squash. Summer squash varieties - zucchini, yellow squash, and others - require similar care and have been grouped together in this guide.

Tips for Care:

Summer squash prefer moist soil; water at least 1” per week. Take special care to keep soil moist at least 4” deep when the fruit form to prevent misshapen squash.

Harvesting:

Summer squash are at their most tender and flavorful when they are 6 - 8” long. Cut, but do not break, fruit from vine using a sharp knife or blade.
