Kale
Tips for Care:
Kale does best in evenly moist soil, though it will tolerate some drying. Water between 1” to 1.5” of water each week, less if it rains.
Harvesting:
Kale can be harvested when the leaves are still young for use in salads. Older leaves are best cooked as greens. When harvesting, use a clean, sharp knife or pair of garden shears and snip the stem below the leaf. Take care not to damage the terminal bud (Figure 1). Doing so will prevent future growth.
